The centre is committed to integrate scientific and compelling anecdotal evidence to develop programs\u00a0that fill the needs of our most vulnerable populations as well as gaps in existing programs. This\u00a0includes identification and promotion of effective health and social programming and service delivery. \u2018Evidence for Action\u2019 is the slogan of the centre. For another ongoing project,\u00a0Food for All,\u00a0we deliver food for people in need. This program is in partnership with Ecssen Career School.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We have also launched an exciting program with Centre for Sexuality, <b>Culterwize,<\/b> to provide education about healthy relationships and wellness in ethno-cultural communities. The goal of this project is to advance the primary prevention of gender-based violence within underserved, equity-seeking ethnocultural communities. This project is funded by the Government of Alberta.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We also have <b>practicum students<\/b> who assist HSRC with its many programs and projects. Practicum students are connected with the Alberta Business and Health Institute (ABHI).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">HSRC has implemented projects with seniors since 2022 funded by the New Horizons for Seniors Program, Federal Govt. of Canada. Our first project was\u00a0<strong>Empowering Seniors\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>for Quality Life (ESQ)\u00a0and the second project was the\u00a0Seniors Friendship Hub\u00a0and\u00a0Healthy Aging for Social Inclusion (Healthy Aging).<\/p>\n<p>HSRC organized an art competition,\u00a0Ocean Through My Eyes, that involved children and youth funded by Canada Ocean Literacy Coalition. The celebration of this art competition was held during Ocean Week Canada last June 2024.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/h2>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: left;\">Upcoming Projects<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We have several proposals under consideration. One proposal is for <b>Tales Over Tea<\/b> (2Ts) which would be in collaboration with Storytelling Alberta Calgary and Ram Breakfast Cafe.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Another project, <b>Every Stroke Counts<\/b>, is an intergenerational participatory art project. This project would encourage children, youth and seniors to work together with an artist providing an opportunity for intergenerational connection.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Finally, we hope to launch the photography project<strong style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-size: 1rem;\"> Our Programs Our current project is\u00a0Healthy Aging for Social Inclusion\u00a0which will end March 2025. For another ongoing project,\u00a0Food for All,\u00a0we deliver food for people in need. This program is in partnership with Ecssen Career School. We have also launched an exciting program with Centre for Sexuality, Culterwize, to provide education about healthy relationships and wellness in ethno-cultural communities. The goal of this project is to advance the primary prevention of gender-based violence within underserved, equity-seeking ethnocultural communities. This project is funded by the Government of Alberta. We also have practicum students who assist HSRC with its many programs and projects. Practicum students are connected with the Alberta Business and Health Institute (ABHI). HSRC has implemented projects with seniors since 2022 funded by the New Horizons for Seniors Program, Federal Govt. of Canada. Our first project was\u00a0Empowering Seniors\u00a0 for Quality Life (ESQ)\u00a0and the second project was the\u00a0Seniors Friendship Hub\u00a0and\u00a0Healthy Aging for Social Inclusion (Healthy Aging). HSRC organized an art competition,\u00a0Ocean Through My Eyes, that involved children and youth funded by Canada Ocean Literacy Coalition. The celebration of this art competition was held during Ocean Week Canada last June 2024. Upcoming Projects We have several proposals under consideration. One proposal is for Tales Over Tea (2Ts) which would be in collaboration with Storytelling Alberta Calgary and Ram Breakfast Cafe. Another project, Every Stroke Counts, is an intergenerational participatory art project. This project would encourage children, youth and seniors to work together with an artist providing an opportunity for intergenerational connection. Finally, we hope to launch the photography project \u2018CLICK\u2019\u00a0to support special needs youth.
